When a gunman opens fire on children in a McDonald’s before training his sights on shoppers in a crowded mall, the human mind reels in its futile quest to make sense out of the senseless. Rational explanations elude us when, ultimately, none are possible. But the horrific shooting spree in Munich, while irrational and incomprehensible, compels our full measure of conscience nonetheless.

We offer solace to the survivors and stand as one with the families of the victims. We express our gratitude to the first responders who render aid to the wounded. We say a prayer for an end to the hatred that fuels violence against the innocent, tears apart families, and tests our faith in each other.
