Fifteen people sustained injuries when a Syrian asylum seeker on Sunday detonated a suicide bomb outside a wine bar in the town of Ansbach, located in central Germany. Police later discovered a video on the attacker’s phone in which he professes allegiance to the Islamic State. Four of the victims remain in serious condition.

It was the fourth attack to strike Germany in less than a week. As the German people grapple with terrorism, its horrific consequences, and the insidious ideology behind it, the civilized world stands in solidarity in the common quest to condemn, combat and ultimately defeat it. Only by uniting against the terrorists can the rest of the world aspire to thwart their dark vision for humanity.
