You have a choice, you can either spend $550 on a Salvatore Ferragamo genuine belt, or buy a counterfeitone for $25.

They both look identical, and no one will even be able to tell the difference, so why not buy the counterfeit one?  Sure, the quality of the authentic one is much better than the fake one, but you just want the Ferragamo logo on the belt, I don’t care about the quality

WHATS THE BIG DEAL IN BUYING A FAKE??

In addition to lying to people who see you in a designer belt, thinking you are able to afford such a luxury, you are stealing from Salvatore Ferragamo.

You might ask – “how, I’m not breaking into their store and taking the belt?”

While that is true, you are still stealing the Ferragamo logo, which is also property and may even be worth more than the belt itself.  It doesn’t really cost the manufacturer $350 to make the belt, it probably costs them around $50, but once it has the Ferragamo logo on it, it raises the price tremendously.

So instead of paying Ferragamo the $350 to wear a belt with his logo, you are paying $25 to a guy off the street who copied his logo and put in on a junky quality belt.

Ferragamo probably loses a significant amount of money each year from customers who instead of coming to their store to buy their products for an expensive price, go and buy a counterfeit of their product for much cheaper. In addition, if a friend of yours realizes that the quality of the belt is not very good, and yet doesn’t know it is counterfeit, he will not buy from Ferragamo in the future, because he thinks the quality is poor.

The United States is very good about controlling counterfeit products, however other countries allow them openly, so people get them there.  If the sellers of these fake products would stop getting customers, then they would stop selling the counterfeit items, and Ferragamo would get more customers.  When you buy from someone like that, you are encouraging him to keep doing what he does, which is wrong.

Remember, just because no one will know the difference doesn’t make it right, and you should refrain from buying counterfeit items, because you are stealing from the designer.

This does not only apply to Ferragamo belts, but to all counterfeit items, from fake belts, fake designer pocketbooks, to fake shoes, etc.
