Kindness in a Restaurant

Two women were crying at a restaurant in Massachusetts  one day. The place was almost empty, and just one man sat a few tables away from the crying women.  When the man received his bill for his meal, he decided to do something very sweet.

Nikki Pirog, the waitress in the restaurant, collected the man’s credit card only to find a note on his bill. “Do me a favor and bring me their check too. Someone just got diagnosed. Don’t tell them,” the note said. Nikki combined the two bills, and without making a fuss, the man went on his way.

When the women asked for their check, Nikki told them that it had been taken care of, and relayed the man’s best wishes to the women. All three of them were overcome with emotion by the kindness the man had for two strangers at a restaurant.

Nikki shared this experience online saying, “I’ve never really had anything this moving happen to me while at work; people sometimes need to be reminded that there is good in the world.” We should all be inspired by the kindness and sensitivity that the man had for these two women.
