A Massachusetts state trooper was driving one day when he noticed a woman begging for money on the side of the road. The woman’s situation touched the trooper, and inspired him to make a connection to this woman. The trooper decided to buy the woman a hot meal for lunch. The woman was surprised that the trooper made such a nice gesture on her behalf, but was even more shocked when he sat down to eat with her and keep her company. In an interview, the woman said, “I thought he was just going to hand me the meal, but when he said: ‘come around the back it’s such a beautiful day,’ it touched my heart.” And so, the two enjoyed a hot meal together and spent time getting to know one another.

This state trooper exemplifies the importance of treating everyone with respect and making every person feel special. The trooper taught us the importance of putting in an effort to make someone smile. We commend the state trooper for his kind and thoughtful gesture!
